NCPMobile App Review 2023: Make Money When You Shop

NCPMobile is a new cash back app that pays you to upload your shopping receipts and earn rewards.

It joins a host of other popular apps that pay you to scan your receipts, such as Fetch Rewards, Receipt Pal, Makeena, CoinOut, and Ibotta.

This NCPMobile review covers how it works, how to redeem your points, whether it is legit, and alternate apps that pay you to shop.

NOTE: NielsenIQ and IRi used to run NCP ReCap in addition to NCPMobile. However, they ended NCP ReCap on July 31st, 2021 and retained NCPMobile. The latter app was made available to all NCP ReCap members and offered all their accumulated points on their accounts be transferred to NCPMobile before the date of termination.

What is NCPMobile App?

NCPMobile (formerly NCP ReCap) is a cash back app operated by the National Consumer Panel, a market research company owned by NielsenIQ and IRi.

If you like taking paid surveys online, the chances are that you have taken a consumer survey designed by Nielsen at some point.

National Consumer Panel has another app that rewards users when they scan the barcodes of the items they purchase – from groceries to pretty much anything you buy for your household.

In the United States, the specific app for this program is known as NCPMobile previously but since the termination of NCP ReCap, NCPMobile is used both in the US and Canada, and it is also available using a web interface on your laptop or tablet.

In Canada, a similar program is known as the Nielsen Homescan Consumer Panel.

NCPMobile only requires you to scan and submit your receipts in exchange for points and free gift cards.

The app is available for download on iPhones and Android devices.

How NCPMobile App Works

Membership is free. Simply sign up and click on the “Get started” button to complete your profile.

You receive 50 points for each receipt you submit per week (up to 10 maximum) for a total of 500 points each week.

Every member of a household can sign up for the NCPMobile individually and submit their own receipts separately.

The receipts you upload can be from any purchase.

For example, receipts from your grocery shopping or gas purchases qualify. Even online purchases from popular retailers like Amazon, etc., are acceptable.

Other Ways to Earn

The NCPMobile app also offers users access to paid online surveys.

The survey opportunities are limited; however, when available, you will find them on your dashboard.

You should note that receipts may not be approved if it does not clearly show the retailer’s name, and date of purchase or if it is older than two weeks.

Also, handwritten receipts are not accepted.

Is NCPMobile App Legit?

The NCPMobile app is operated by a well-known name in the consumer insights and marketing industry – Nielsen.

Nielsen has an A+ rating with the BBB and has been around since 1923.

As for the NCPMobile app, it has a 4.4/5 rating on the Google Play Store and a 4.4/5 rating on the App Store.

Pros and Cons of NCPMobile App

Pros:

  • Easy to redeem points for gift cards
  • Owned by a legit company

Cons: Some of the complaints by users include:

  • Takes a while for points to be awarded
  • Support is limited
  • Limited to 10 receipt submissions per week
  • Not available to residents of Alaska and Hawaii

How To Redeem NCPMobile App Points – Is It Worth It?

You can redeem your points in-app for electronic gift cards from Amazon.

It takes a while to earn enough points you can redeem, given the limit of 10 receipt uploads per week.

That said, all other receipts you upload earn you entries into sweepstakes.

Is the app worth your time?

It depends. You are rewarded for uploading your receipts and can upload those receipts to other shopping receipt apps as well to maximize your earnings.
