The Mistplay app makes it possible to make money by playing online games.

These days, you can make money from blogs, creating videos and posting them on media platforms such as YouTube, watching video ads, and taking surveys.

You can also get paid to test, play and review games all from the comfort of your own home. And that’s what apps like Mistplay offer.

In this Mistplay review, I cover how it works, how to join for free and earn rewards, and whether Mistplay is safe and legit.

What is the Mistplay App?

image showing mistplay on playstore

Let’s start this off with a little backstory on Mistplay. This ‘loyalty program built for gamers’ is a mobile app started in 2017 by Henri-Charles Machalani.

Since then, Mistplay has become one of the leading gaming reward platforms internationally and has already reached 10 million downloads on Google Play and counting.

The mobile app offers its users a platform where they can play video games, do other online activities, and get paid.

You earn rewards in the form of points and can redeem these points in exchange for prizes. These prizes include:

  • Visa Cards
  • Steam Credit
  • A few others

Provided with a chart with other players and a list of games, users pick a game they want to play and possibly earn money from.

You can also browse for offers. Other than that, you can get rewards for performing tasks like downloading, testing, and playing new games.

It is important to note that this platform is free, although it is only available for Android users via the Google Play Store.

How Does Mistplay Work?

Mistplay is an app for gamers who want to play with a little something more.

As a part of the list of the few legitimate gaming apps, this app might just be the platform for you if you are looking for a side hustle that may earn you ‘easy money’. Take note that you will not be earning loads of money.

It may be important to note that Mistplay is not a game itself. It is an app offering new games for players to install on their mobile devices and get paid to try these games out.

So why do apps pay to play games? It is due to the fact that mobile games are rampant today and marketing a newly-launched game to the general public is difficult, since the competition is stiff.  This app is a solution for game developers who have this problem.

Using the point system and the reward platform, Mistplay allows game developers to showcase or debut their games to a bigger and broader audience. This interests not only the game developers but the users as well. This is because they both earn something. It is essentially a win-win situation.

Basically, Mistplay works this way: Game developers pay Mistplay in exchange for a place to feature their games, and Mistplay users are paid to try out these new games through rewards such as gift cards.

If this is the app for you, try it out now!

How do you sign up and start using Mistplay?

So if you’ve decided that this is the app you want to use to earn money by playing games, you can start using it.

But there are important things that you should follow first to ensure you maximize earning rewards on Mistplay.

-It should be your first time to install Mistplay on the device you are about to use.

-You should always download games on Mistplay.

-You should not keep switching internet access or mobile device to install games and play. Otherwise, Mistplay will only give you a fewer rewards if they trace that you have downloaded Mistplay before on that device you’re about to use.

Ready to create your account? Make sure to follow the instructions carefully. Here’s how.

Step 1: Download and Install the App

In this step, it is important to note that this app is only available for Android users via the Google Play store. Download Mistplay here.

Step 2: Modify Phone Settings

You are going to need to change a few phone settings you have to make sure that Mistplay will run or function properly.

  • Allow Mistplay to be displayed above other apps that may be running
  • Make sure that your phone’s power-saving mode is disabled

Make sure to do this step, or else you will not be earning any points, and in turn, you won’t be able to redeem these points for any rewards.

Step 3: Open the App and Create an Account

After adjusting the phone settings you have, open the app you recently installed and create an account. You can create an account through your Gmail or Facebook Account. Once you finish this, you will be given a list of games available on Mistplay. These games may differ depending on which country you are from or your location.

That’s it! You’re well on your way to earning rewards. Start earning and redeeming.

What are Units, PXPs and GXPs?

Before you start earning rewards, let’s take note of the 3 terms you need to know. These terms are Units, PXPS and GXPS. I’ll be explaining each as best as I can and in detail below.

Units

This is a term you should remember. Units are what you earn when you play games, leave reviews, or complete levels. Basically, it is the in-app currency that you will later use to redeem gifts and rewards. The number of units you have will be displayed so you can check the number of units you have.

The more and more points you get, the closer you are to being able to exchange said points for something like gift cards or other prizes Mistplay will be offering. Trade your units for real prizes.

Player Experience Points (PXPs)

PXPs represent the total player experience you have within Mistplay. It also relates to your current level status. Unrelated to the game you are playing, PXPs talk about your profile level rank on Mistplay in general.

This can be viewed in the top left-hand corner of your account dashboard.

Every time you reach a new level, you earn more PXPs. These PXPs help you gain more units. And just like most mobile games, each level comes with bonus points and certain privileges. In a nutshell, PXPs indicate your entire experience in the game that you and other players can see.

Game Experience Points (GXPs)

The more time you spend playing a specific game, the more GXP you earn. Game experience points represent the time a player or user spends on an individual game. It rewards you every time you play for a longer period.

By actively participating in a particular game for a longer amount of time, you earn more PXPs. Higher GXPs also increase the number of units you make while you play. All these terms above (Units, GXPs, PXPs) are related, and these are what you need to redeem and grab some prizes.

How do you Earn Rewards on Mistplay?

Alright. Now that you know the 3 pretty important terms you need to know, you can finally start earning rewards on Mistplay and, soon enough, earn some prizes.

First off, you’re gonna need to choose a game you want to play. Mistplay offers different categories you can choose from. Here they are:

  • Simulation
  • Strategy
  • Bingo
  • Word
  • War
  • Board Games
  • Other Games

There might be more as they add new games pretty often.

1,500 Mistplay points or units amount to a $5 gift card.

The number of units you might earn for playing a game may just start at 20 points, and that is for playing the game in the bare minimum time, which will be 2-5 minutes. You’ll be notified when you’ve reached the minimum time requirement while playing the game.

If you want to change the game you’re playing, you can, but remaining within the game and continuing to play the same game will give you more PXPs and GXPs.

Also, you’ll be asked for your feedback about the game and some related questions about your gaming experience. You should not skip this part because reviewing a game will also increase your total amount of units.

Just remember that in most instances, game developers give different amount of points and different users may also receive different amounts. 200 points will give you a real-world sum of $0.66.

Once you finish earning enough units, you can redeem these for a variety of rewards. Start earning points now!

How do you earn as many units as you possibly can?

Here are a few Mistplay hacks you might want to know to earn units:

  • Play for a longer period
  • Try leveling up as fast as you can
  • Try having a seven-day streak, and you’ll earn unit bonuses. The longer the streak, the bigger the weekly bonus.
  • Unlock badges to earn some extra units
  • Prioritize high-rewarding games to earn units faster
  • Try joining contests and winning up to 10,000 units.

However, it’s important to note that there’s a limit on how many units you can earn per day and how much time you can play a certain game you downloaded from Mistplay.

It is one of the few downsides of Mistplay because if you run out of games for that day, you won’t earn much for that specific day, so you have to wait until the next day to play your games and start earning units, GXPs, and PXPs again.

How do you redeem Mistplay Units?

Once you’ve earned enough units or points in Mistplay or reached the minimum requirement, you can redeem prizes in exchange for your Mistplay units.

You can redeem said points you have accumulated for in-app credits or gift cards from different online stores and retailers.

1,500 units will equate to $5 worth of a Visa card. 3,000 units will equate to $10 worth of Steam Credit, but you can also redeem an Amazon gift card for as low as $0.50. Here are a few gift cards you can redeem your units for.

  • Google Play Credits
  • GameStop
  • PlayStation
  • Xbox
  • Amazon Gift Cards
  • Facebook
  • Cineplex Gift Cards
  • iTunes Credits
  • Best Buy Gift Cards
  • Roblux

A sad fact is that you cannot redeem Mistplay units for cash. Here are the available options for you:

  • Visa Cards
  • Steam credits
  • Fortnite V-Bucks

You can redeem gift cards as well, of course. In the last few steps, after choosing what prize you would want to get and redeem, select the right currency and email address when placing your order.

Please make sure you select the right ones because you cannot cancel or edit your transaction. Expect your gift card within 48 hours of placing your order. Check your email to see if you’ve received the gift card.

How Much Money can you Make with Mistplay?

There is no definite amount you can make with Mistplay; however, you will not be able to receive actual cash. Your options are gift cards or Visa cards, and Steam credits

The factors that affect your earning ability and, therefore, how much rewards you can redeem are:

1. How Much Time You Spent Playing Games

As you know, the more time you spend playing a certain game, the more GXP points accumulate. These GXP points will help you earn more units and redeem gift cards.

2. The Levels You’ve Passed Through

You earn PXP points based on the experience you have within Mistplay, which is basically your level. The more levels you pass through and the quicker and higher you progress in a specific game, the more PXP points you get.

There are other hacks you can use, and I’ve stated them above.

Also, like what we have discussed earlier, Mistplay limits your playing time per day and per game. Once you reach the cap, you won’t be able to earn more units per day, and that will affect your possible earnings on Mistplay.

Where can you get Mistplay?

As I’ve said, Mistplay is available for Android devices only on the Google Play Store.

You can download and install it here. After installing the app, follow the steps for signing up as described above.

Does Mistplay have any restrictions?

To avoid wasting your time installing and signing up and finding out you’re not eligible, here are a few things you will need to know.

You have to live in a country that is supported by Mistplay. These countries include:

  • The United States
  • Canada
  • Several European Countries (Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom)
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

Another thing is that you have to be 13 years and older to use the app. This is an app that is eligible for teenagers.

Lastly, you need to have an Android device. Using an Android emulator to gain access to this app when you have an IOS device will not work.

Pros of Mistplay

You can get gift cards by playing games

Check out the redeeming and earning points portion of this article. You’ll need 1,500 units to redeem a $5 card from Visa and 3,000 units to redeem a $10 card from Steam Credits. There are different and other cards. It’ll depend on the offer you can find. Gift cards range in value from $0.50 to $50. The more units you have, the bigger the amount.

You get paid by doing something fun and easy

People describe earning money this way by saying that this is “a side hustle that earns you ‘easy money’. This is true. You are paid to play games, which is something most of us enjoy, and you can play these games from the comfort of your home

Teenagers can earn money too

This is one of the few apps that do not restrict teenagers from using the app. You only have to be at least 13 years old to use the app.

You do not need to give out your credit card information

You do not need to provide payment information. All you need to do is send an email address if you want to redeem a gift card. When signing up, you only need a Google or Facebook account.

Cons of Mistplay

You don’t earn a lot of money every hour

Some people earn only about $1 every hour they play games on Mistplay. It may be better than nothing, but you shouldn’t expect a lot of money when you use this app.

You can only use the app if you are an Android User

This app is not available for iPhone users. Using an Android emulator to gain access to this app when you have an IOS device will not work.

Downloading Mistplay depends on where you live and your age

People under the age of 13 and people who do not live in specific countries have no access to this app.

Not all games are available to all eligible countries

Some countries have more games available than others. If you run out of games to install and play, it has a significant impact on your possible earnings, as there’s a time limit to every game per day.

Yes. Mistplay is legit and safe.

You can earn points using the app and redeem them for various rewards and gift cards, including Amazon, Google Play Store, Xbox, and iTunes gift cards.
